Over 25 years experience of employment in ecology. Consultancy established in June 1998.
Considerable experience in the survey and sustainable management of semi-natural habitats including woodlands, grasslands, limestone pavement, sand dune, saltmarsh, peatlands, moorland, riparian habitats and other wetlands. Extensive knowledge and experience of the National Vegetation Classification (NVC) and Phase 1 Habitat Survey, including work on NVC projects with the Lancaster University Unit of Vegetation Science.
Experienced also in the survey and ecology of a wide range of animal species including mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles and butterflies. Specialist knowledge of the ecology and conservation of red squirrels, gained through several years of research; including an M.Phil by research in Biological Sciences awarded for a study of the replacement of red squirrels by greys in Cumbria and Lancashire (London University 1994).
