RSPB Leighton Moss and Morecambe Bay Nature Reserve

Profile

Discover some very special wildlife at RSPB Leighton Moss. This popular nature reserve is home to a variety of wonderful creatures – from birds and bugs to bats and otters. If you are lucky, you may even spot one of the largest residents, the red deer.

There’s plenty to do at Leighton Moss - explore nature trails, take a stroll around the sensory garden, treat yourself in the gift shop and enjoy a home-made meal in the award-winning café. Pride is placed on sourcing high quality, fresh, local produce. There’s also a ‘fledgling’ menu for the kids. With 100% of the profits helping to give nature a home, it’s the perfect excuse to enjoy a delicious cake with a pot of refreshing Fairtrade tea or coffee. Get 10% discount in the café if you travel to the nature reserve by public transport or by bike.

Children can have great fun discovering nature by taking part in seasonal activity quizzes or turning detective with the Wildlife Explorer Backpacks, available all year round. During school holidays, a range of special family events are held for all ages.

Set within the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Leighton Moss is a fantastic place to get up close to nature and admire stunning scenery at any time of year.
