Profile
The Lancaster BID is a private sector led, owned and managed initiative set up by the city centre businesses to promote and improve the trading environment in Lancaster. All business properties with a rateable value of £10,000 and above within the BID area will make an investment of 1.5% on a fixed rateable value of their business. These payments – the BID levy – generates a budget around £650,000 over three years which is spent on improving, promoting and engaging the city centre as a cosmopolitan destination. This BID began in April 2013, and will run for three years until March 2016 initially.
